NATIONAL FLEECE SHOW RESULTS

Congratulations to ALL ALSA National Fleece Show participants! We had a wonderful turnout of 65 total fleece entries from 13 states. I had to hurry to get this all together because I know so many of you are anxious to see the show results. The fleeces are so beautiful, it will take all my will power to force myself to send them back to you.

As previously discussed, I will be taking them to the Grand Nationals in November. (I must tell you it's a real challenge to haul around 65 show fleeces!) I'm planning on having all the fleeces on display with the pictures of your animals on the outside of the bags. Please let me know if you want your fleece back prior to the Grand Nationals.

I have attached 5 documents for you to read. If you didn't place this year, please don't be discouraged. The classes were large and the competition was very tough. Many of you indicated this was your very first fleece show attempt and you did great. The cleanliness of the fleeces was very good, in fact remarkably free of debris. Skirting off the longer, shorter, belly wool & second cuts was a problem with some fleeces.

Cindy was a wonderful judge. She took her time to evaluate each fleece (almost 12 hours) and she enjoyed every minute of it. Please read her attached letter.

I'll have some pictures to send out later. Please feel free to post any of the results on your websites or your regional News letters, etc. Thank you all so very much for making this a great National Fleece Show!

Sincerely,

Lee Ann King
Nat'l Fleece Show Steward
