burden of responsibility is with the owner, exhibitor, or trainer to recognize a

the 2008 Grand National Show. The show is to be held at the Lancaster

Handbook Changes made for 2006
(from the minutes of 4-10-06)
The rule change that became effective January 1, 2006, regarding
exhibitors 8 years through 12 years of age not being allowed the option of
showing intact males has been amended and will become effective immediately. The
Board generally believed that this rule should allow show management at each
ALSA show the option of implementing the rule as appropriate.
Amend Part I, Section 5, K as follows:
“It is recommended that exhibitors 8 years through 12 years of age not show
intact males over 24 months of age, with the choice of acceptance or decline
lying with show management and stated in their premium show booklet.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Clarification of the ROM
change:
The ROM point system would work in two parts: (1)
Actual placing within a specific class
and (2) Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion placing within a division.
All placings other than Grand Champion or Reserve Grand
Champion will be awarded points based on placing
in respective class. Grand Champion and
Reserve Grand Champion winners will earn points based on the overall
competition relative to number in the entire division. The Reserve Grand Champion
winner will earn one less point than Grand Champion winner based on respective
number in division. These points are not in addition to class points but instead
of. In a Division with less than 8 entries, the “show
named” Grand Champion and Reserve Grand
Champion will earn points toward a ROM award based on division size; however,
the Grand or Reserve Grand will not apply towards an ALSA Champion Award (refer
Section 4.B.1). This rule will be retroactive from January 1, 2006.
The following is an example of approved ROM
point revision:
| 24-31 entries in a division |
Grand = 7 points |
Reserve Grand = 6 points |
| 16-23 entries in a division |
Grand = 6 points |
Reserve Grand = 5 points |
| 8 -15 entries in a division |
Grand = 5 points |
Reserve Grand = 4 points |
| 7 entries in a division |
Grand = 4 points |
Reserve Grand = 3 points |
| 6 entries in a division |
Grand = 3 points |
Reserve Grand = 2 points |
| 5 entries in a division |
Grand = 2 points |
Reserve Grand = 1 points |
| 3-4 entries in a division |
Grand = 1 points |
Reserve Grand = 0 points |
| 1-2 entries in a division |
No points |
|
In a Division with less than 8 entries,
the “Show Named” Grand Champion and Reserve
Grand Champion will earn points toward a ROM. The
ROM point revision amendment will be effective immediately.
