New Youth Ages:
Youth Juniors - Handler age 8 through 11

Handling Intact Males
(from the minutes of 4-10-06)
The rule change that became effective January 1, 2006, regarding
exhibitors 8 years through 12 years of age not being allowed the option of
showing intact males has been amended and will become effective immediately. The
Board generally believed that this rule should allow show management at each
ALSA show the option of implementing the rule as appropriate.
Amend Part I, Section 5, K as follows:
“It is recommended that exhibitors 8 years through 12 years of age not show
intact males over 24 months of age, with the choice of acceptance or decline
lying with show management and stated in their premium show booklet.”
Changes in Specifications for Obstacles for 2006:
See "What's New" Have your measuring tape handy.
Added to Major Faults:
It should be counted as a major fault (minus
3 pts) if the
exhibitor has a hand on the clip where the lead and halter are attached.
Petting:
May have 1 or 2 standing adults (standing before animal
enters the obstacle) stroke llama on the neck in a subdued manner.
Walking Fiber Class:
It is recommended that this class be judged prior to Halter
classes in an attempt to limit the use of grooming products.
